Dear Merrill family,
You were in my thoughts today at work at Sunrise Church and I checked the website for updates. Thank you posting the progress for Stuart and your family. Your family is on our prayer list every week. May our Lord give you the rest and peace you need each and every day.

You are all in our continued prayers. Tell Uncle Stuart that I remember a guy that wasn't afraid to tackle anything. Even cutting out the front of a van to put an engine in that wouldn't fit any other way. We will be praying about you and the church there. Remember that only God knows the truth. Believe me that sometimes it is best that the "truth" never comes out to protect many people.

God sorts all of that out pretty good. The devil loves to use things like this to put a toe hold as the other person put it. Don't let it get you down. God knows exactly what is needed when. We are all human and just when we don't think we will fall is when we will. It can happen to anyone I speak from experience. It is only by the grace of God and a couple of unbelievable friends that I am where I am now. The church will go on no matter how many sinners there are and mistakes that are made.

Danika still asks how Uncle Stuart is doing. You will be in our continued thoughts.

I haven't read this blog in awhile. I wish I had - then I would have realized you were here in Elmira. I would have loved to see you, but you probably didn't have a lot of time and perhaps lots of people to see.

I see Stuart is having his surgery tomorrow and I will be praying all day for him, for the doctors doing the surgery and for the family. I spent a few days at Camp Hunt this a few weeks ago and it was so good to see people I haven't seen in awhile.

I am going to be a grandmother again next spring. But this time it isn't Katie and Andrew but Tom and his Japanese wife, Eiko. Tom lives in Japan now and I recently found out they are having their first child. They are going to give me a ticket so I can fly there and see the baby and meet Eiko's family. They were all 4 going to come here in the spring but Eiko will be just a wee bit busy having the baby. It is a little hard for me having all my grandchildren so far away, but I now have skype and a webcam, so I can at least see and speak to them more often.

I will pray many times tomorrow and I will be waiting to hear how things turned out. I mean I will come on and read the blog - not that I expect you to email me or anything. Please don't think I was implying that. I don't always say things right. Anyway, God bless you all and I am just so glad things have gone as well as it has in the last year.
Love in the Lord of Lords,
Carolyn

Hi Guys! Just happened to take a look at the website. I saw that the 25th of Aug. is a a big day. I will continue to pray for your family. I do twice a day anyway, but will remember the operation. Health is taken for granted until something happens to remind us that it is God's blessing. Faye is suffering from a cracked rib that happened on a chiropractor's table! I was there when it happened, hard to believe. God bless you and keep you. Aaron &Faye

Hello, Valerie,

I am so glad you are keeping all of us informed about Stuart's progress. It is so wonderful to see all the changes. I am sure it is hard for Stuart to see, but it was only 6 months or so ago that he was up on that roof in Nikopol. It is so amazing to me how God works. Not only in the physical things, but really even more in the spiritual. You two have affected so many lives over the years, but I think maybe not as much as in the last several months. I have been thinking about the Holy Spirit a lot lately. How he comforts and leads us through the ups and downs and difficulties in our lives. But when you are going through things I think it is harder to see. It is not until we get down the road a bit, I think, that we see it more clearly. I am so glad, by the way, that I came to visit you when I did. I would have missed you completely if I had waited. And that trip was so wonderful, I still think about it and look at my pictures. Did I tell you I was able to take a little video of you all singing while I was there? I play it back sometimes so I can hear the lovely singing in Russian. I continue praying for you and your family. I love you, Valerie. And I thank God for the privilege of knowing you both.
Love in Christ, who is our Light,
Carolyn Sheridan (Green)

Wow! Stuart's progress is amazing. I'm sure things are still frustrating at times, when he can't do what he used to. You continue to be in our prayers and thoughts. We enjoyed having Andrew and Katie here. It brought back memories of all the times you were in Coos Bay and of our trip.
May God continue to bless in your lives.
